Extend the life of your jerseys : perfect care
SHARE
At CAVAPETER, we make it a point of honour to offer quality swimwear, with durable flocking and optimum comfort. But even the best shirts need to be properly cared for to keep them looking and feeling their best over time. Here's our simple, effective advice on how to make your favourite jersey last!
✅ 1. Machine washing: yes, but with care
You can machine wash your jersey, as long as you follow a few rules:
Maximum temperature: 30°C - never more!
Delicate or sports cycle recommended
Turn the jersey inside out before washing to protect the flocking (name, number, logo).
Avoid using fabric softener, as it can damage the technical qualities of the fabric.
Do not wash your jersey with rough or scratchy clothing (jeans or hoodies).
🖐️ 2. Hand washing: the best way
If you really want to protect your jersey as much as possible, hand washing is your best ally:
Use cold or lukewarm water
A little mild soap is all you need
No need to scrub hard: leave to soak for 5-10 minutes, then rinse gently
Wring out your bikini line without wringing it out (by pressing it into a towel, for example)
🚫 3. Tumble-drying: strongly discouraged
Tumble-drying can damage the fabric and, above all, cause the flocking to crack.
If you have no choice:
Turn the jersey inside out before putting it in the tumble dryer.
Use the ‘cold’ or ‘delicate’ mode
But ideally, avoid it altogether if you want to keep your jersey spotless.
☀️ 4. Drying in the open air: yes, but not in direct sunlight
Dry your jersey flat or on a hanger, but in the shade.
Direct sunlight can fade colours and weaken flocking .
📌 Quick summary to remember :
✅ Machine wash: max 30°C, jersey turned inside out.
🖐️ Hand wash: cold = ideal
🚫 Tumble dry: not recommended
☀️ Air dry in the shade
🛑 No ironing or dry cleaning
💬 By taking care of your jersey, you'll extend its lifespan, keep the colours vibrant and the flocking intact, even after dozens of matches (or washes)!
